What We Pay for Your Pokemon Cards

Most card buyers keep their offer a secret until you’re standing in front of them. We do the opposite. Our buy rates are published right here, so you know what we pay before you ever call. Everything below is what we pay you, not what we charge.

How Our Pokemon Card Pricing Works

Almost every collection is a mix of two kinds of cards, and we price them two different ways. This is the part most buyers never explain.

55–65%

Valuable singles, worth more than $5 each. Each one looked at and valued on its own, based on TCGplayer sold market prices and eBay sold data.

Flat rate
by category

Bulk, worth $5 or less each. Priced using the table below, not valued individually.

Here’s why that matters. A big collection is mostly bulk. If someone offers you a flat percentage on every card in a shoebox of commons, they’re not being straight with you. The valuable cards earn a percentage, the bulk earns the flat per-card rate, and sorting the two is exactly what we do for you.

Why Not Full Market Value?

Turning a card into cash costs money on our end too: marketplace fees, shipping, payment processing, and the time it takes to list, sell, and ship it one card at a time. On a $200 card, those costs are a small slice of the total, so we can pay closer to 65 percent. On a $6 card, the same costs eat a much bigger share, so the number lands closer to 55 percent, and anything under $5 makes more sense to price as bulk than to sell as an individual card. A local shop that quotes you a higher number is often paying it out in store credit with a markup already built in, not handing you cash.

Not bought: Basic Energy cards (Special Energy is fine), code cards, pins, coins, playmats, oversized cards, and ETB sleeves/dice/dividers. Japanese-language cards aren’t accepted right now. Graded cards (PSA, BGS, CGC) aren’t a flat no, we buy those locally after a valuation, but we don’t take boxes of low-value graded cards by mail.

Counted in days, not weeks

We use machine-assisted sorting, so a whole collection gets counted and valued in days, not weeks. Bigger collections take a little longer. You get a real, itemized offer quickly, not a rough guess over the counter.

Big collections and mail-in

No collection is too small, and the big ones are what we’re built for. If the collection is large, we’ll come to you. Prefer to ship it? Mail-in works too. You send it, we count and verify it, and you’re paid at these published rates.
